About the Toolkit

The Election Toolkit is a library of free and low-cost tools to promote civic engagement and make voting easier. Developed by, with, and for election officials, the tools come paired with step-by-step instructions as well as information about how to use them for the best impact.

The Toolkit is supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s News Challenge on Elections, which funds breakthrough ideas to better inform voters and increase civic participation before, during, and after elections. For more information visit newschallenge.org.

It is created by the Center for Technology and Civic Life in partnership with the Center for Civic Design, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections, the Inyo County Clerk-Recorder-Registrar, and the Suburban Cook County Clerk.
